Bama may not be deserving of getting in this year, but I bet they could beat most, if not all the teams that made it in. I wouldn't have a problem with them getting in if those 3 losses came to quality teams, but that Vandy and Oklahoma loss sealed their fate. Now it's going to be interesting to see if the players will play in their bowl game, but I'd be surprised if Milroe plays. And I hate seeing guys sit out that could play, but that's the college football world we're in today.

The facts are BAMA can beat the conference champions and their in state rival, about all I expected. Kalen pieced together a team after many good players left with Saban’s retirement. I understand he kept Milroe to help pull the team together. Like JB I’m ready to move on. TY Simpson is a good pro style QB. Kalen just landed the #2 player in the nation another QB, along with several 5 stars in key positions. It shows he can recruit at a high level. Let’s see what he does with a team he has more of a hand in building. I hope to see staffing changes over the summer that benefit the team.

He is recruiting very well. I hope it’s Simpsons turn next, but DeBoer is running his system with someone else’s roster. I think 9-3 is a very good start. I have questions about whether or not DeBoer belongs in the SEC, time will tell if I’m wrong I truly hope I am, and I truly hope Bama gives him plenty of time to figure that out. Took Kirby 6 seasons to win a natty at UGA, and he is hands down the best coach in the country right now. I hope bama fans have some grace and patience in the coming years otherwise we will be like Auburn, throwing Hail Marys for second tier coaches.

I really hope that the committee does away with ceding the highest ranked conference champions and comes up with a ranking system from the outset that, as fairly as possible and in a transparent fashion, ranks the teams based on a formula combining wins and strength of schedule. The strength of schedule portion of the formula could be adjusted each week of the season just like the wins and losses are.

Still has a bad case of beauty pageant rules. ^

There will always be griping by fans of teams that just missed,…..always. It’s just more ridiculous now because we’re arguing over irrelevant spots. Go to no more than 6 teams. If committee members can’t figure out what 6 teams are NC worthy then they have no business being on that committee. The 12 team playoff is for the added revenue……period!

The problem with four, and it would likely be the same with six, is that there are two conferences right now with teams that legitimately have a shot to win it, so you ultimately leave out someone who should be in. Back in September, there were four teams with less than +1000 odds to win the NC. That was Oregon, UGA, Texas, and OSU. In the 12teams field there are five, those same four and Penn State. Somebody would have gotten left out of the, that was “deserving”. Boise State lost one game last second and it was to Oregon. The deserve a shot and would have been left out of a 4 or even a 6 team playoff. Is twelve too many, probably, and there will be some teams get boat raced that first round. But every teams that truly deserves a change and has a real chance to win is in the playoff. That is all you can ask for.

I respectfully disagree. Vegas odds change weekly and can’t be a controlling factor. I stand firm on 6. The top 2 can sit out the first week.

Not making excuses-I’ll leave that to you guys, since objective thought has never really looked good on ya’ll anyways…It’s sad to see that TDS has such a hold on many of you!

The hate is laughable!

Pre and Post transfer portal roster rank is quite a bit different I do believe! You lose 1/3, ie ~33%+/- for you really slow homers, mostly top talent and see how your operations runs at work!

So yeah, Deboers body of work this season was above average-Dare I say better than Both Goats first seasons at their last and current jobs. Truth-Fact check if you care to!

I just don’t think Deboer is going to be at Alabama very long. I remember when Corch Irvin Meyers faked his heart attack and left Gainsville and the gators were talking about how it wasn’t a big deal and Boom was a great hire. They’re still trying to find their way out of the woods. I don’t know how bad it’s going to get for Alabama but I sure don’t think this guy is the answer.
