S&W K frame serial numbers?

I have a K frame that appears to have 2 Serial numbers. One number is inside the cylinder strap it is a K over a number.
The other number is on the bottom of the butt. It's a C followed by numbers.
Either number makes sense by itsself, but both on the same pistol do not.

If you call Smith and Wesson and are willing to wait on hold for 30 minutes, they can tell you exactly what it means. Sorry, it’s not much help but it’s something

You want the number on the bottom of the grip

the k would be in front of the numbers if that was a serial, you maybe looking at model or assembly number there.

- C Series:
C1 - C233,999………….....1948 – 52
C236,004 – C261,483…….1953
C277,555 - C402,923….…1954 – 56
C402,924 – C405,018…….1957
C405,019 – C429,740…....1958 – 59
C429,741 – C474,148…….1960
C474,149 – C622,699…….1961 – 62
C622,700 – C810,532…….1963 – 65
C810,533 – C999,999….....1966 – 67

It's definitely not a model number. Assembly number is a possibility.

Thanks. Supposedly they have moved all their research off site to some historical agency that requires quite a bit of hassle to get answers from.
