It is certainly clear that salvation FROM sin is taught in Scripture. The following passages prove that God wants every Christian to be FREE from sin: "Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people FROM their sins Matt. 1:21, "sin NO MORE, lest a worse thing come upon thee" Jn. 5:14; 8:11, "Whosoever committeth sin is the SERVANT OF SIN. And the servant abideth not in the house forever" Jn. 8:34-36, 'Shall we COMTINUE IN SIN, that grace may abound? GOD FORBID. How shall we that are DEAD TO SIN, live any longer therein?. . . Knowing this, that our old man was CRUCIFIED with him, THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DESTORYED, THAT HENCEFORTH WE SHOULD NOT SERVE SIN. . . Likewise reckon ye also yourselves TO BE DEAD TO SIN. . . . LET NOT SIN REIGN IN YOUR MORTAL BODY, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For SIN SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU. . . . Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey: WHETHER OF SIN UNTO DEATH, OR OF OBEDIENCE UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS? . . . Being then made FREE FROM SIN, ye became servants of righteousness. . . . When ye were the servants of sin ye were free from righteousness. . . . But now being made FREE FROM SIN, and become servants of righteousness, and become SERVANTS to GOD, ye have your FRUIT UNTO HOLINESS, and THE END EVERLASTING LIFE" Rom. 6:1-23, 'For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus HATH MADE ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH" Rom. 8:1-13, "And they that are Christ's HAVE CRUCIFIED THE FLESH WITH THE AFFECTIONS AND LUSTS" Gal. 5:24, "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us FROM ALL SIN" 1 Jn. 1:7, 9.
