I saw some pictures of the blue chert someone sent to be that was found in Lumber City. They were in the river at low water on the highway from Hazlehurst, on the side where the Telfair Forest Products is. I do see a boat ramp down their between the highway and the railroad trestle. It was some pretty good size pieces too.
I don't have a picture of the bluer chert but here is one they showed me.

That`s not blue ice. That looks more like an agate.

I've seen blue chalcedony called Blue Ice. Maybe that's one of those names from different locations things. I would say chert is not very clear and chalcedony is more clear but some say it's all just chert. Here is some blue chalcedony;

That's true and I figured as much some terms could be local. Sorta like trout vs bass or crappie vs speckled perch. Also some names in trades like a toilet plunger vs a force pump are different between localities. I called a little pry bar a Wonder bar and the Yankee carpenter didn't know what I was talking about here in Augusta.

a little pry bar was called a "cat's paw" when I worked construction in Phoenix AZ.
