Small stream trout....

Was able to sneak out and toss a few flies into a small-medium stream I like to fish. Left the Eagle Claw in the truck and took out one of the tenkara rods, which are an absolute blast to fish. Got one of each: Brown, Rainbow, and much to my surprise a Brook trout. I know the water pretty well and never seen these here before, so maybe all that rain we had washed him over the falls...? I guess that could happen.

It has been an amazing spring and so much fun to be in the water. Didn't change flies all day: Up top a size 12-14 yellow stimulator and hung below a fly I call "experience." Silver bead, black thread, two wraps of pearl crystal flash, and sometimes a fluro orange hot spot. Basically just an attractor. I call it experience, so that when/if someone asks what I caught the on? I can reply, "experience!" That's about the extent of my ability to be funny.

Nice fishing. I can see a Tenkara rod in my future.

Good deal! Wanting to go here, but after several inches of rain this week, the creeks here are about all out of banks.

I am not sure if it was all the folks at the trailhead and wading in the water, but the fishing started off slowly yesterday in NoGA. After lunch it picked up and my buddy and I were able to snag a few in the 9-11" range.
Flies of the day: natural Pheasant tail and small black or yellow stimi.
