Snake ID please?

Ok.. most of the rat snakes I have seen have been blackish... this one has a gray/dark gray pattern? BTW this was at the Chattahoochee River Recreational area today.

It`s a gray rat snake (oak snake). All we have down here are the light ones. The dark ones, or black rat snakes are generally from Sumter County and on north.

Judging it to the brick, that snake is about 3 feet long or so. It`s no juvenile.

The large oak snakes I find east of Atlanta are almost completely black. You can still see the faint “checkering” on them though

Got them things all over my place in far N. Fla,,,Big Bend.
Real tame.
Seem to grow to maybe 5 Ft. or so.
Their new to me , Far South Everglades we had Red and Yellow Rat Snakes.
Reds were pretty small not like these Oak snakes.
I like them
