I have caught small snapper 10 mi out from Savannah at KC reef . (50ft of water) The reefs closer to 20 mi out of Savannah (65-70ft deep) have lots of snapper in 13-18 inch range. the best snapper fishing is natural ledges in the 90 to 150 ft range about 40 Mi out.

That is for the Savannah area

pic is a recent trip to a reef about 18 -20 mi off Ossabaw of a 17 inch Snapperfathers day.jpg

Do you catch a lot of gray (mangrove) snapper off Ga or yellowtail snapper?

I haven't. Some mangrove caught by FL border I hear, and there are vermillion at the snapper banks about 40 mi out but i dont think the yellow tail are here, someone can correct me if i am wrong.

Look for snapper reports this weekend, lots of boats going including me for the open season...
