Social Distancing

Serious question for y'all. Are y'all trying to keep your distance from others during this virus mess? I know you have to go to the store, and travel for other needs, but are you trying to keep a little distance from others? When I have to go where there are others, I do try to keep my distance, but others will walk right up to you, if you're not paying attention. I've always tried to give others their space, long before this virus outbreak. I will try to avoid smaller stores where people will be in close proximity to one another.

As of this post, there are 7 confirmed case in my county (Glynn).

Y'all trying to be a little extra cautious, or just going about business as usual?

I live very anti social anyway. I go to stores at opening and go
In and get out even when there’s no virus. I used sanitizer on the cart back when it wasn’t cool too.

I have my routine down well enough I could lick my fingers after eating wings in our home.

At work I stay as clear as I can and stay in the office working in my sanitized work space. Most everyone is working from home so I am not cramped at work.

I still see people in traffic picking there nose, pumping gas and then touching the steering wheel.

Glad I stopped dipping years ago. I doubt wetting my pinch fingers and wiping off on the jeans would work today:bounce:

I'm not much of a crowd person either, Sinclair. And I have always been one to wash his hands, for the exact reasons you say. Heck, I won't handle the salt & pepper shaker, or hot sauce bottle in restaurants, without using a napkin. :bounce: I've seen how disgusting some can be. Some go use the bathroom, you hear the toilet flush, then right out the bathroom they come. Never washing their hands. That's nasty. Who knows what the dude in the kitchen was doing before he prepped my food, I can't control that. I can at least use caution elsewhere. Always wash my hands before, and after I eat as well. I know! I know!

Yeah, but now, instead of throwing away the wipe after wiping the handle down, I keep it on there, with my hand over it. And only use that hand to push the cart. I guess you could say, I am cart smart! :bounce:

Being elderly makes me more cautious. The virus would likely be a death sentence for me.
Yes, sir, I certainly can understand that. Seen a CT scan video of a man's lungs, and what the virus has done to them. If that don't get your attention, nothing will. They say it's a rough thing to go through.

I certainly hope that's not the case, but I kind of heard the same thing. I reckon it all depends on how many available test kits, and affected patients the local hospitals have at the time. Hoping this warmer weather we're having can also help slow the virus down somewhat.

Be safe out there, bud.

Here’s what we’re doing in the break room at work, seems like something the Army would make us do! (Sorry, can’t seem to get photo to rotate)39F0B41C-C72F-4A5F-8B44-DDB46286EFD1.jpeg

Yep, the virus if I get it will probably be the end of me also crackerdave and many others that I know.. I'm sure the government looks at this as well old folks don't need treatment anyway they just need a visit with the undertaker. That crowd had much rather give money or treatment to illegals and immigrants that come here every day that have never contributed one red cent to our system...Yeah I try and keep my distance from others but I see plenty of young folks who do not. And I will add, I ain't too sociable either and never have been..

Ain`t been to town in close to three weeks, and have no plans to go anytime soon. Like ya`ll, it`s liable to be a death sentence to me so I`m taking no chances. Albany is getting worse by the hour. No way in this world would I head down there. Hopefully my reclusive and solitary nature will keep me out of harm`s way.

I'm pretty anti-social to begin with too. I am normally far from a germaphobe, but I'm paying attention now. Mainly because I'm taking care of my 87-year-old mom. I am avoiding all contact with other people that I can.

I’m seriously considering not fishing Lake Oconee as the northern hoard have started invading the lake community. People are stupid. If you are living in a state with a high incidence rate(such as New York) take refuge there and don’t go to a community that has a low or no infection rate.

I will add this as a heads up, that some may already know. If you are older or taking care of the elderly it is extra important you stay away from any healthcare worker and their family. Many of them are working with no protective equipment/limited equipment right now. It is very likely many are carrying and dont know yet. Stay safe yall!

Never was a germaphobe, but could never understand why bathrooms are open out,,,,I'm talking with door handles,,,,I use the towel to open them,,,,
Since they have no windows or other access points it's in case someone passes out and falls against the door. Put a 120lb. sandbag at the bottom of a door and try to open it, you'll see why.
While on this subject, folks like NCHB and myself caring for their elderly kin need to think about doing this in their homes as well. The elderly pass out in the bathrooms a lot more than you think, and trust me.... you NEVER want to have to beat and hack on a door taking the chance of doing even more harm to a loved one on the floor on the other side of that door. I have a little experience in this.
