after reading this I see where I didn't get good germination in areas I disked and planted then fertilized and then it rained all night. soil was not packed good enough seed must have went to deep. can someone post the picture of the homemade cultipacker.

An option, is to put a heavy bar behind your discs (not knowing what you have). Just something to take the "air" out of the soil, but a cultipacker is best.

I built one very similar to this one about 10 years ago and it's been great, I made mine 7' wide and used inflatable rubber tires on it.
