I almost connected today. I got off work at 0800, ran an errand or two and hit the woods at 11:00. I passed on 2 does. Both came through at 30 yards but I don’t really want to booger this spot up shooting a doe because the bachelor group has been bedding nearby. I’ve practiced at 30 and can hit fairly well at that range, but I’d rather have a closer shot than that.
I then had an ear wide buck come in at 2:15. He got to within 45 yards and knew something wasn’t quite right. He turned around and eased on back up the hill and out of sight. I sat until 3:00 and then called it quits for the day. So stinking close!!
