Spear hunting laws?

Hope everyone is doing well. I havent been on here in many years. I honestly just forgot about it. That being said this group seemed like the best place to ask this question. Spear hunting is legal in alabama but not many other states. Its something I'd really like to do to add another challenge. How would we go about maybe changing the Georgia laws on it? Do we just go to meetings or do you have to have a lot of interest and big following? Not bow related but its primitive so I thought it would be ok here. Thanks!

Some states are beginning to allow Atlatl for deer. I know PA is one. There must be others in the pipe because the sporting goods companies are already trying to think of ways to make them more modern.

You would be better off contacting your elected officials because it would require a law change, DNR can't make it legal through regulation.

I'd rather see hunters out with spears than crossbows. I have no problem with truly handicapped hunters using crossbows but able bodied hunters are just trying to take the easy way out.
