What time of day did you go? Did you just walk around? Did you see any sign of squirrels cutting? Did you see any tracks? Did you hear any squirrels barking? I have never been to Pine Log but I'm sure it has squirrels. Go back early morning or late afternoon and report back here.

Find a pretty spot, sit down, and don’t move a muscle. You will be surprised how many squirrels you see.
This is good advice right here☝️
When i started squirrel hunting or just hunting in general i thought if i just walked enough miles i would run across stuff. Didnt see much. Learned to sit still and then i started seein game. Now i am back to walking but i see game because i know how to move in the woods. Watching the animals taught me how.?

Find you some fresh cuttings on a log or a stump. Sit and be still for awhile. Try calling them, you can take 2 quarters and grind the edges together and it sounds like a squirrel cutting. Them rascals are nosey...they will start peeking at you real soon. Whatever their feeding on, probably young hickory nuts, there will be several in the same tree or close to each other. Early season is the time to call, they cant see cause all the leaves and will move around better. Squirrel hunters either learn woodsman ship or eat chicken when they get home.facepalm: If the fresh cuttings are there, they are there too.

And for my contribution, after you find sign- slip in before shooting light and sit.

I know @Hillbilly stalker hunts rats 24/7 and is the resident "rat king", smoking them any time of day, but for us rookies trying to kill a mess for the pot, right at shooting light is what's up. ?

Hey 20,. Out of Canton before the check station and stamp creek there is parking,. Go north up a big ridge, get up to the top and sit,. Wait, wait, wait, oh did I say wait. ? I used to get a bunch there,. When you get tough know it lots of land. There is an old cematary from the 1700's up there, when you find that your in the real good spot.

Yeah the ol' cemetery was quite a honey hole back when I was younger. Even got a couple of fox squirrels off the high side. Must have been even more popular before my time and before the WMA was established - folks were just dying to get in there.

My brother and I used to wade down Stamp Creek, one with a fishing pole and one with a .22. We'd reach the bridge with a stringer of trout and a stringer of tree rats every time. Swapped out after each rat. Was a lot of fun.

White people weren't supposed to be there until 1830. Native American? Maybe some people born in the late 1700's buried there? I don't want to steal anyone's spot but I am interested in where this old graveyard is. I love stumbling upon them in the woods. I've stumbled upon them in two different WMA's, but not Allatoona WMA.
