Store brand Wing Sauces use butter flavoring?

Some do say "natural butter flavoring" but what is that? I had been using Frank's Wing Sauce but my wife bought some Texas Pete Wing Sauce. It had an almost Theater popcorn butter taste.
I read a couple of taste tests where the tasters picked up on this as well. I may have to just keep making my own with regular hot sauce and my butter. I have never liked pre-butter flavored products.

I can't answer your question about what's in them, but can say that I use Frank's and always melt my own butter to add to it before tossing the wings.

I use franks and Moore’s with a mix of 50 50 then add butter and Montreal streak seasoning. It’s delicious!!

We usually use Frank’s. my son and I go through a large bottle in a few weeks, or less… chicken, pizza, Buffalo chicken dillas.

in the past we used the Kroger brand too. The buffalo garlic was ok.

I don't think it's the palm oil that gives it that taste. It must be some fake butter stuff they add to the palm oil.
