Sun Damage??

Currently looking for a decent sit on kayak but for the time being I have was given an "older" sit in kayak. The kayak is only a few years (rough 3 or 4) old but has spent all its life when not in the water laying partially covered by a tree. Ive read that this can sun damage the plastic and make the prone to breaking. Any way to see how damaged the kayak is before putting it in the water? don't want to get out a decent ways hit a rock or something and it crack and sink.

You should be fine,UV rays can damage plastic but it takes a while just inspect it for damage.I say if you cant put your foot through it highly doubt it will crack from impact with a rock or log

I havent seen one yet damaged that bad. Usually just fading.
