how did yall do dove hunting over corn this season? i was thinkin about planting corn next dove season for late season huntsAlways enjoyed reading this thread and here's my first addition. Here's part of a 10 acre cornfield I planted back in March that my family and friends shoot doves over every year.View attachment 1025994
I didn't put the time in this year that I usually do and it showed. Usually by opening day I've been cutting down corn for a month but this year the corn just wasn't drying down quick enough to cut it before season opened. Corn is awesome usually.how did yall do dove hunting over corn this season? i was thinkin about planting corn next dove season for late season hunts
Planted 4 plots 12-14 September into well-amended soil. Pics from this past weekend with my daughterView attachment 1041448. Mix of wheat, oats, abruzzi rye, PTTs, radishes, and kale. Very thankful for the September rains and happy with results so far. Will be adding some clover to selected spots. Ready for the youth/muzzleloader opener!
