Forgot about the whole pistol and ffl thing. Will have to hold onto mine for now. Wife is a Soldier and we don't live in our home state.
Have your wife send in her handgun. If she has her orders, she can buy a gun.

I have a Taurus G3, which is a slight upgrade from the G2. It's not the compact, but I really like the size. So far it's been a flawless pistol. I think Taurus did a good job on the G2/G2C and the G3/G3C.

I would contact FFL and verify before doing anything though.
I already checked. Active Duty Military on Permanent Change of Station orders can buy a hand gun in the State assigned. Doesn't extend to Dependants. I can only buy long guns as a Non Resident.

Well, didn't even take a month. My new G2C showed up at FFL yesterday and I picked it up today. Now gotta make range trip to try it out.

It is all black and came with 2 mags. Came in a cardboard box. Trigger is a little weird feeling to me, but I tried another the FFL had and it felt the same. No where near as good feeling as the GX4, but not bad for an inexpensive compact pistol.
