Don’t reckon it’s ever a good time to loose a dog but ruby was given to my son by a very good friend few years back . We all joined up for a coon hunt tonight and ruby tried to cross road before I could get to her. Well it ended worse way possible my son was with me and learned the ugly side of hunting dogs . She really got him hooked on squirrel hunting and will be missed for sure. It’s a risk we all take every time we cut one loose .

Sir: Been there and had it happen to me a couple of times on 2 of the best squirrel dogs a man could have......grieve for just a little while, but don't get stuck there.....there are lots of good young puppies out there looking for a good home and a great master.......your son can and will carry on......get him a young puppy, let them bond and grow up together.....they will become best buddies and a "hunting machine". So sorry for your loss...
