There’s passage that’s a key phrase, “God knows your heart.” The Pharisees walked about all pious, doing grand things but always in someone’s view, show boaters. Christ had no time for them.

You could be the poorest of men living a good life as best one can and you accept Christ and he knows your heart is pure your reward will be in heaven. Your the show boater, tossing money around for your own glorification God will also know your heart.

Pardon my country boy simplification.
Thanks and no pardon necessary. I prefer simple and clear. Allows for better message communication.

What I was wondering is, if as in NCH's post, does Ghandi get into heaven? He seemed to have a pretty good heart. Assuming there is only one heaven and that is the Christian heaven, then I assume a man like Ghandi would not get in based on the "accept Christ" part. Not trying to be contentious or negative at all. Just thinking that if the answer is no, then that kinda sucks for any really good man or woman that is not a christian.

GT there’s a story in the Bible about what we would call a “good man.” He lived a good life but had never heard Gods word. He had a dream to send for a guy named Peter to deliver a message to him. He didn’t know what the message was. It ended up he and his family heard the word and were saved. If God can make that happen why would I not believe he has means to communicate with everyone and knows their heart. It’s beyond my comprehension but I don’t rule it out.

Not sure I understand your post. So if no one is perfect does that mean no one gets in to heaven? If not, and some get in and some don't then there must be a scale. What is the criteria of the scale?
What it means is no one gets into heaven by his own means. There is no good you or I nor anyone can do that will get us into heaven. Jesus said He was the only way to go to heaven. ' I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by me.' Jesus was the only perfect being. We all have fallen short, me especially. I have lied, cheated, stolen and a host of other things in my lifetime. There is no way that a perfect God would let me into heaven by my works.

Like I said, God doesn't judge on a balance scale system. If there is one sin, one short fall, one stumble, then our destiny is the hot place. The only way to not bust hades wide open is to accept Jesus and LORD and savior. To have a relationship with Him, and allow Him to direct our lives.

I am not here to judge anyone. Ghandi did a great many good things. His destiny is between him and God. Just as my destiny, and everyone else's destiny is a personal matter between them and God.

Can God reveal himself to people in different ways? Do they all have to hear from a preacher to be saved? Or is God big enough to show Himself to others where they are?

Personally, I wouldn't want to be in a church where the preacher yelled at me and told me I was going to the hot place every weekend either. I am not looking for a social club either, where the preacher tells me what a good man I am, and pats me on the back, telling me everything is all peaches and cream. I look for a body of believers that I can relate to. One that will help me when I am struggling, and point me to the only one that can redeem my soul

Many Feel the "Organizes Churches" have been infiltrated and are nolonger the path to Jesus. I have been too many church's that spend 1/2 or more of their time or more having "Business meetings" or scheming on ways to collect more money telling people they are not giving enough and not teaching

I particularly have a issue with the overindulgence and ornamentation of many church's with monies given with the expectation of the Church helping people in need and not buying a Preacher a new Mercedes every 2 years or a Gulf Stream or a 7k foot mansion. or a Million dollars in Jewelry which was stolen during a sermon on live tv. Even the over usage of stain glass windows , 1000s of sq ft of unused and unneeded space within the buildings

The Atrocities done to Children by Priests and covered up by the Church is another extreme issue.

The adultery done not only by the partitioners which is bad enough but done by the ones that we are supposed lead us is unacceptable and unforgivable and it happens far too often!

I get it we are all human and we all sin but I dont believe the only path to heaven is in a building that has been infiltrated by those that are not true to themselves or true to the work of god.

Anyone can read the words, anyone can interpret those words. but if you are led by people that do so with ulterior motives then I dont believe the path you follow is the one you think you are.

Look at what is going on with the Methodist right now. Half that church is being led by those that are not on the correct path. I will leave that to you to personally decide which side is right and which is wrong but they can not both be right!

Here is two more of my two cents,
I think too many people hang their hat on the cant earn your way into Heaven deal as an excuse to live selfish, mediocre lives. Imagine if everbody everywhere acted like you had to earn it.

“Once saved, always saved” can be a dangerous pass for selfish living, that’s for sure. The Mormons I know at least do a good job at appearing “different” from the world. Like anything else, if you’re born into it, I can see it being hard to escape, but it is a false religion in my view once they created and chose “the book”.

Take it up with the LORD
I did, a long time ago. I soon figured out that it wasn't God who was unjust and immoral. It was actually all those fellers who claim to speak and write books in his behalf, but are actually just pushing their own social and political agendas. God is out there, and God is good. There is more than one way to connect to God, regardless of what some Hebrew writer who didn't understand God any more than I do said a couple thousand years ago in a book he wrote.

I see God's work on the top of mountains. In the streams below and everything in between. I think we have a great relationship. If I have to repent and throw a couple dollars in a shiny gold pan to stay out of hades every Sunday and get hollered at in the process ... I'm out on that fellers. To each their own. We can compare notes later eyereckon after we draw our last breath.
Amen. Welcome to the Owl Creek Gap Church of Universal Harmony.

If you can lose it then salvation isn't by grace. It's by works.

This thread is getting close ripening into one that should be moved to the Religious Forum.

I work with and know several mormons very well. My work partner is one. They are some of the most solid people I know. One thing stands out about the guys I know.

Their contribution of 10% or whatever of their earnings comes off the top. They will lose their home and their kids will starve, but they WILL pay the church FIRST.

I don't agree with their religion, and I could never take part in it, but I respect their beliefs.

I certainly can't call em wrong, I'm not qualified...

Verse: All have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD.

Mankind: "wow look at that person they look great, hair, face, height, weight etc"

Nope see that freckle, one toe longer than the other, etc.

Solution Jesus (His death burial and resurrection) shed blood.
Verse: Without the shedding of blood there is NO remission (forgiveness) of sin.

Accepting HIM gives us the covering/cleansing of our sin

I didn’t mention losing it. I mentioned LIVING BY the mantra “once saved always saved”.

God is good!

I feel the need to keep this thread on topic, so I’ll mention that I watched an interesting Mormon documentary last week about the Jeffs family. I know they are a split off, but it was wild seeing the devotion that these folks lived in to that “church”. If they got mad at you they’d issue your wives and children to someone else and kick you out on your tail.
