Throw and grow birdseed plot?

I believe it's been brought up before, but I just checked the bag and it says it contains milo, white millet, cracked corn, wheat and black oil sunflower. This stuff grows like crazy underneath my bird feeders.
I'm thinking about just raking an area to expose the dirt and throwing out a little bit to see what happens. I'm not planning on turning the dirt over on anything.
I know deer will eat anything green at some point even if it's not their favorite. So do deer like the ingredients listed above once it starts to sprout?

I have a friend that uses it, exclusively. he swears the turkey are all over it every spring, after he uses it for deer season.

Everything but the wheat will all be gone after the first frost. Bag of feed wheat is way cheaper and will work fine spread over the top of thin grass. If you spread a bag of fert at same time they will really use it once we get a few frosts.

Good to know, thanks.

I've been planting it in unused garden plots for years. Everything loves it....deer, turkeys, songbirds, doves. Makes a good and pretty summer cover crop.

Yep people already said but thats all summer/warm season cover crop. Go get you a 50lb bag of rye or wheat and some turnips. Rake the leaves away from where you want to plant. Scatter seed evenly. If the ground isnt rock hard it will germinate. You can rake the soil a bit to make a bed if you want better results.
