Toccoa tailwater sluicing

Looks like they are sluicing at blue ridge dam. Right now it’s about 798 CFS and that looks to be the predicted flow for the weekend. Is that too high to float comfortably?

You can float it, but will have to manage your boat and drift a lot to avoid the sweepers. I would not recommend it.

Thanks- I think I’ll play it safe unless they lower it more on Sunday. The upper Toccoa gauge is crazy. Looks like it almost got up to 10k CFS?!

Consider that even 1000cfs is almost certain to end in tragedy.

I'd planned on going tomorrow morning but now they're releasing 1000 CFS until further notice. It seems like a week ago it was normal.

Yeah the one weekend I couldn’t go was the only time they weren’t sluicing

It’s still a 1000 CFS. I didn’t think they lowered Lake Blue Ridge in the winter.
