Topwater Trout

Wanted to see if anyone has had any luck yet with the early morning topwater trout bite. It may still be a few weeks early for them, but figured I’d try to see if anyone had any reports.

Went to try today. Got out there and water was only 62 degrees. Threw a paddle tail instead and wore them out.

Fished the big bend today. One trout on suspended plug and one blow up at top water. But we tore them up on soft plastics.

Good to hear that paddle tails and soft plastics are working. Planning on throwing topwater early tomorrow morning but will be ready with soft plastics as well. Thanks for the reports

Lots of fog today. Top water worked. It it had to be the right spot so to speak. Even up until 12 pm.

Caught 1 topwater trout. 3 reds on soft plastics. Largest 24”, the other 2 were 19”. Decent morning.
