Trolling for Reds

My fishing partner is interested in trolling for reds. Anyone on here ever tried this? We normally fish between Sapelo Sound and Doboy Sound and all the creeks in that area. If I try this, do I stick with the beach areas and work the flats up and down the islands? I dont have a clue as to what to try, any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm somewhat of a trolling enthusiast and expert. Done it successfully for lots of species, but not redfish (and we tried a number of times.) I recommend chasing redfish with alternate techniques.

I watched a guy slow trolling/drifting big bucktails with trailers along the bottom in passes. He was in fla in Fall or winter and he caught some sow's.

We have caught many over the years trolling rattletraps real slow along bridge pilings and jetty rocks.
