Double duty yesterday...first trip this morning was a sonar trip tuning up Terry's Helix 10's....fished a little and boated 10. The second trip started at 3pm...off at 6pm....short and sweet. Don't let the 3 hr trip fool you....Bob and his son Brian put the smackdown on the fish with 30!
Drop shot was the ticket on humps.....we doubled up several times and almost had a triple or two. Lanier Baits Blue Lily, Morning Dawn, Tomato Craw, and LJ's Obsession did the damage and we left them biting so I could get to Taco Thursday.
Bob and Brian never drop shot fished but caught on fast and were sticking fish at the first stop. They fell in love with the technique and the Humminbird sonars....they really showed out.
Trash talking was a premium with these two....and I mean about a 9 out of 10....and funny! Great time and catching fish.....all about 2#-2.5# with a couple maybe going 3#. Just a fun time....30 fish in less than 3 hrs fishing - non stop action. They were pulling water so I targeted humps on the main lake between 25'-35' and boy were they on fire.
Skip to this morning on a trip with Phil.....fished the same places and could only boat 10...but it was a grind! Drop shot, spybait, and Jerk Shad this morning - but like I said -it was some tough fishing. The fish were in a funk or I was just in the wrong places. LJ
