(Un) Official Woody's Vaccine Side Effect Thread

It's hard to find information we can trust these days, and I trust the members here more than I trust any other source, so I wanted to take an internal (to Woody's) informal poll on side effects from the COVID-19 vaccines. We'll consider this our own data set and research project.

A few rules, first:
  1. No politics...let's keep this to facts...keep opinions in the PF.
  2. First hand experience or knowledge, only (no 'second cousin's ex-wife's co-worker).
  3. Only answer if you (or someone you personally know) has had had the vaccine, and experienced side effects.
Answer the following 4 questions:
  • What vaccine did you/they take?
  • What adverse effect did you/they experience?
  • Did the adverse effect go away, or has it lingered?
  • How long after getting the vaccine did the adverse effect occur.
I appreciate everyone's responses in advance.

1. Pfizer in Aug 2021
2. Sore shoulder, swollen lymph nodes in armpit. Tired for couple days after second dose.
3. Went away
4. Next day

I was positive for covid 2 weeks ago. Like a heavy dose of the flu. My store is currently a hotbed for it. We have 12 out of our 45 or so employees in last 2 weeks positive with one in hospital for a week. 2 of us vaccinated tested positive. Mine cleared up in a few days and back to work. Other vaccinated is feeling ok, but can't get a negative test so far. Best I remember this is the 1st time we've had a positive test since covid was invented

Still have effects from covid prior to vaccine.
Back pain and loss of taste and smell. Has come back somewhat but nothing close to pre covid level.

3. Effects went away the next day
4. Started the day following the 2nd shot

In August my whole family had COVID and my symptoms were very mild, a little sinus trouble and a headache. No fever or cough. My wife had similar symptoms along with fatigue that lasted 5 days or so. She also had Pfizer at the same time I did. My children who were not old enough to get vaccinated both had a harder time than we did.

Pain at site for 2-3 days, dull ache after day 1.
Felt like the flu for day 2 and 3, then nothing.

I do have kind of a funk right now, but I suspect that's all allergy driven with ragweed exploding. I have horrible allergies that manifest like a cold anyway.

Moderna both shots.
Within a week or two of getting my second jab I started experiencing something akin to shortness of breath but very subtle. Also some mild chills and fatigue. Since these symptom were mild and kind of up and down I put off going to the doc. After about six weeks with no change I went to see the doc. He was concerned it was my heart (I have no history of heart disease) and sent me to a cardiac doc. Did a bunch of tests everthing tested ok. Also did a Covid test which came back negative. I've since had an antibody test which also came back negative so I didn't have a "breakthrough" case of covid. About the time I was doing all these tests the symptoms started to ease up. Was it a vaccine side effect? I think so, just no way to know for sure.

Moderna

First stick late March, no problems whatsoever

Second stick late April, 12 hours after shot, started feeling achy, 18 hours after shot, chills, low grade fever, under a blanket in my recliner. 24 hours after shot, in bed asleep. 36 hours after shot, symptoms much improved. 48 hours after shot back to normal.

No problems since the first 48 hours.

Im not sure if your looking for out of the ordinary side effects or not? Sore arm and feeling off for a day or too. Seem to be real common.

J&J
(Hurt going in) sore arm
Lasted about 3 days (got better everyday)
While i could feel it almost immediately. My arm was sorest when i woke the next morning.

Brother had J&j
sore arm next day only

Sister had Moderna
She felt like crap for about a day and half after second dose.

I do know a guy that i went to high school with. Got the J&J. He is having nerve problems in his arm. Causing some mobility issues. Its been several weeks.

The only person i know of (personally) that has had outside the normal side effects

Note:
After my original post. Talked to my wife.

Our insurance agent is having bad problems with neuropathy. Its getting worse and worse. Its a pre exsisting condition. He also has a heart problem. It might very well be a coincidence. But it seemed to accelerate after he got his monderna shots.
