I ditched my land line years ago for that very reason. Haven't missed it at all.

Cell phone started blowing up for a couple days and I called the provider. They put a stop to the worst of it.

a name has to pop up on my screen that is in my contact list before i answer......if it's important they'll leave a voicemail.......

Update after a year living a nightmare I found some help. If your are on ATT you can dial *77 and it will block out of area calls with their id blocked.If you have a Panasonic 6.0 or later hit menu #240 and it will block most unavailable calls, only took a year to find this out.Went from 30 to 40 a day to less than 10.
