Venice LA inshore

Thread starter #1
Anybody recommend a good guide for inshore? I'd like to go down and learn a couple things once then start going with my boat. Also how's the summer inshore fishing down there? Thanks

The best two days of trout fishing I have had were in June 2009 during the spawn, three of us caught over 80 trout in two days, the limit was 25 per person per day. When I put the boat on the trailer my truck thermometer said 106 degrees. It was HOT, but so was the fishing. We were fishing below Houma out of Cocodrie Marina.

Let me holler at my big bro and see who they went with, first class operation, I'm hopefully going this fall.

If you decide to fish Venice, stop at the rocks and catch some sheepshead. It is a different speices of fis than what we have over here. They will rip the rod out your hand like a big red will. A popping cork, 1/4 ounce jig head and shrimp.

I stay at Capt Dude's place when I am down there. I have not fished with him but he gets a 100 from me for customer service. If he treats his fishing clients as well as his lodging clients you cannot have a bad trip.

X2. I have fished with him a few times and have always hammered the redfish.
Not only will you hammer the reds, but Boola and Rock will keep you laughing all day. This is a few pics of our trip last June
