Wonder what’s going on. I’ve done poorly in the creeks lately. Only place I’ve had decent action is water with direct access to ocean. Maybe salinity or no oxygen due to heat...I have no idea.

The fish aren't going to be spending much time in the back water, stick close to the inlet. Top water first hour or so then once the sun comes up they are going to drop off to deeper water.

I really like the incoming tide this time of year, cooler water with good salinity will come in with the tide. The trout are still spawning so the beaches is a good place to start. For redfish I've been targeting flats within a couple miles of the inlets with deeper water adjacent. As mentioned, top water early then soft plastics are my go to. Live bait fished deeper if you are going to fish in the hotter part of the day but I stick to the first and last couple hours of light.
