Wade fishing the upper etowah?

I’m new to fly fishing but I’d like to get out more and catch some fish. I’m not partial to trout or anything just catching fish in general. My question, is the upper Etowah wadeable? Last time I’ve kayaked through the mine tunnel it seemed like it was up there, but I’m closer to Canton and was looking for something near there.
