Well house rebuild project

Not finished, still have some trim work, corner boards, electrical and a door to build but I got it far enough to Cadillac through the cold weather we just had. Need to build a box around the outside pipe and dress up around all if with hay / seed. Wife wants the little “front porch” to hang some flowers on.

My old house was a 4’ box with a removable top. Removing the top was a thorn on the side because it always required help. Bending over working on points, adjusting pressure, etc was a thorn in the back!

Now I have some standing up room, almost 7’ in the center. There’s going to be a light directly above the pump and one under the roof over the door. I had to clean the points one night in heavy rain, having to leave the door open to have room was not fun. That’s the reason I have a little extra roof over the door now.

I didn’t have a neutral on the 220 feeding the pump so I ran another 110 out there for lights. Tired of running an extension cord for heat lamps. And, there’ll be a heater with a thermostat mounted in here going forward. Wiring up a small light to mount on the outside that’ll come on when the pump is running.

If I need to pull the pump and piping, all I have to do is remove 6 screws, slide one piece of metal roofing out……the insulation and plywood are already cut out.

Putting a disconnect on the wall, too. My breaker is inside my house, if I’m out of town and anything happens I have to coordinate with someone to be there if the well company has to come out so the breaker can be turned on / off. Plus I’m tired of walking back to the house to cut it on / off when I’m working on it.

When it’s completely finished with everything I’ll post those pictures.

I’d like to seal it natural but I don’t know how long it’d last. Probably just stain it. 36320444-516D-4B6B-83BD-61C738EB88C4.jpeg069C7633-1F2D-4C69-A245-15506970CA3E.jpeg182B81B4-BA4E-4A97-8645-13C3F8A2BFF4.jpegD4AD406C-BE23-49CD-98E3-29BA3484AA30.jpeg6D282E39-2D96-4108-946A-56179586CC8E.jpeg210A1C2D-5AB2-4929-BAC7-6225F6DF115C.jpeg421343AA-8062-4B70-95A8-AE85B166FED9.jpegCDDF9B0C-FF30-43BF-AD12-CDC677F203BA.jpeg28A7041A-E46A-474B-828B-F7B5F889F007.jpegC8B866F0-CEE5-46A1-B66C-609FCCD74419.jpeg

You done well ! lol it looks reall
Good I like it
Thanks! It could be a little overkill but the older I get...........the more I want the little extra. When I was 20 years old, that bending over and sitting on your knees changing points, etc. was fine. I got 27 years out of the old one with just painting plywood walls and rolled roofing on the top...........this one should outlive me.

Seal it hood or be prepared to get stung every time you go into it. Lol
Oh it’s sealed good. Everything is caulked, too. Even have screened vents going in the door for the summer.

Good idea on putting screen over vents as well!

Our well house need a major overhaul. It's a death sentence via red wasps to go in there in the summer. lol

Well, :ROFLMAO:, it looks great! Good job and good planning. I'd be proud to have that in my yard.
