What stung me?

I despise a yellow jacket, was harrowing a deer plot on a 4 post jd 2955 and those jokers somehow got between my hat and my head, that tractor will pull a harrow in c3, had my old blazer up there parked close, got into it as the sun was going down, flipped the visor to block the sun dang if there wasn't 10-15 yellow jackets under the visor, almost bailed, had a front window down and slowly reached and let down the tailgate window down to create a vacuum, swatted them with my hat and they flew out, that could have went way worse than it did

I’ve never heard of a Cow Killer. I will have to look it up. Yellow jackets are evil. I think the itching that comes on after is worse than the pain.
Jbogg, guessing you've seen them before. Never been stung by one but stomped on quite a few of them, and as others can attest they're tough buggers.... REALLY have to stomp hard on them to kill them.

I'll add another creepy-crawler to the list.... worst reaction I've had was to a jab from a wheel bug... I had a band of inflammation running from my forearm all the way up my arm when I got bitten as a young boy. Not me in the video, but if watch to end you can see this guy has quite a bit of inflammation from his jab as well even a full day later. Have tons of them around my place now, but blessedly haven't been jabbed by anymore.

i vote for European hornet. A yellow jacket on steriods! Only been stung twice. Wasps dont bother me much but the european hornet made my wrist swell. They are yellowish and bigger than a black and yellow hornet. They make paper nests in hollow trees and are attracted to light. Coon hunting one night and felt like some stabbed a knife in my finger that was holding a flashlight. Pretty sure it was a European hornet. Seen them flying around lights in the evening.

Yellow jackets have made me leave a tractor running. Cow ant was painful. Got a good friend that got bit by brown recluse, would not heal. Took close to a year of going to the wound specialist.

Fell down the side of a mountain once near the West Fork of the Chattooga ( actually tumbled head over heels holding a 3 wt. that didn't break FWIW) and got stung 11 times by yellow jackets that we'd disturbed on the way up. Lesson learned. Never bushwhack up a mountain and then follow that same path back down. Luckily I was with two other people and wasn't the one having to drive. 2nd worst pain I've ever had. Hate those things.
