What to do when someone's hog-dogs run to you

I presume you meant with the owners and not the dogs themselves?

Given that I'm not entirely sure they were supposed to be running dogs in the area anyway I suspect I also may have gotten a negative response from the owners If i had to round up the dogs.

Unfortunately with people it's always a possibility they are going to be jerks no matter what you do. Which gets extra uncomfortable when everyone is armed and you are in the middle of nowhere.

Yessir, the owners. In both cases, the owners thought they were being shaken down.

Generally, handling dogs is easy.

it's the guy in the side by side that grabs one dog and goes (with a tracking collar on it) takes the tracking collar off and throws it. Then you have to follow the tracks to find the person...then convince them they need to get you the dog now, and that when the Sheriff gets here he will arrested for taking the protected dog.. that you have to worry about. Not so much the whole pack it the truck with the collars still on them where you have a cell signal.

I just let them run on this time of year. Owners come get it. It’s just fine. Maybe they will kill a hog while doing it.

Best thing to do is leave people's dogs alone that is why they have gps tracking collars.
