Professor pay close attention to poplar regeneration in older cuts or storm damaged areas and I bet you find a grapevine or two, fine mtn buck!
My brother found some grapes in a tight poplar grove this morning. I found some rolling off the tip of a peak. Ran from the top down a couple hundred yards on a south east facing ridge. The whole area was pretty tightly spaced mixed hardwood sapplings. Neither one of us saw feeding sign around the grapes. Do the critters prefer larger mature vines over smaller ones that string 30 ft through sapplings?

Chris I’m not sure about vine preferences but I walked through a place a few weeks back that had plenty of grapes and no big game from what I could tell feeding there
