Cannot remember where I got this Colt Pachmayer with the Colt Medallions, but have had them on my CLW 70’s since late 70’s.

Picked up this Dan Wesson Valkyrie .45 a few months back.

It's performed flawlessly in the 250 rounds run through it....most 230gr fmj but also 50 Gold Dot hp's.

I appreciate it's easily concealed grip frame but wanted just a bit more checkered real estate on the mainspring housing....figured while I was at it, might as well try a magwell version.

Stan Chen SI to the rescue. I'd picked some up for different guns that I plan on installing them on.

Never was a fan of the factory grips (also VZ) on this particular gun. Another set of VZ ws more to my liking. Black Cherry with flat bottom and no pin notch.

Had an assistant hop up in the chair to watch.

Back together, nice & clean with fresh lube. Safeties work. Bang switch works. All is well.

Feels much better in hand. As Justin, the Cajun Cook, would say..."Dat's more better"

Nice funnel.

Now just need to add some more bling. Maybe a full length guide rod also.

No thanks on FL guide rod.....maybe a gold front sight.

Stayed with same grip thickness with this swap....new screws weren’t needed like the last one.

No thanks on FL guide rod.....
I swear it makes the action smoother, keeps the spring in line and prevents chance of binding.

Took a few weeks but a late Christmas present arrived in the mail today.

First bone grips I've tried.

Gonna mount them on my next day off.

Also arrived today.....some Hogue cocobolo goodness that'll go on a 44mag hawgleg.

Nice, but dang at the crevices to catch dirt.

Would leave a distinctive mark on someone if they were swatted upside the head with one. Waffle iron pattern.
Sounds like someone is using the wrong end....
