On my way to Colorado for the summer. Stopped at Bull Shoals White River State park. Fishing on foot. It's been good. It was blowing today and I decided to hit the river anyway. Released 14 of 18 in less than two hours. Biggest Rainbow was 16". Got 4 Browns. One 19". Three 20". Fishing beadheads under an indicator. Today the hot nymph was a #16 Perdigon.

Some fine, fine fish for sure, and some good looking water!

That is one of my favorite places to trout fish that’s East of the Rocky Mountains. It’s a tailwater, but the fish sure don’t act or look like it. The Little Red River just North of Little Rock is phenomenal as well. I used to live in Little Rock and I had some days that were hard to believe on the Little Red in October and November.

I spent many days at Bull Shoals State park in the 90’s . Most of my trout came on Sow-Bugs ( Foxx Statlers) version) . I still consider it to be the most productive waters I have ever fished. All of but one of my 6 (100 fish days) have come on Ozark tail waters. If you are still in the area I highly recommend going to McClellons on the Norfork River ……
