Winchester 21 Sharp

I guess I can see their reasoning, but I have a feeling this falls flat. Very hard to compete with the most popular caliber of all time. Another one of those answers to a problem that didn't exist.
I think that the bullet design is pretty slick and it would be more of a success if they had integrated it into the existing 22LR cartridge rather than make it .21cal and a need to buy new firearms to shoot it.
I can't help but think that there is going to be a lot of people trying to send that ammo through their existing .22 firearms and getting awful accuracy. The case dimensions are the same but the bullet is .210 instead of .225.

Folks on Rimfire Central are speculating this is in preparation for when/if lead ammo is totally banned. CA already bans all lead for hunting.

I don't believe I will see a lead ammo ban, but it could eventually happen in another decade or three.

That with an updated bullet like they are using in the 21S would be pretty good upgrade.
It seems to me that all they did was make bullets to the inside diameter if the same .22 LR case.

Make me something center fire I can reload and you might get my attention. Rimfire cost in an odd caliber, no thanks.

I saw this on TV last night.

This cartridge will disappear faster than the 243 WSSM.
Yeah, to have to get a new firearm or re-barrel isn't a genius marketing move.
