Has anyone ever hunted the Sheffield WMA? I heard it was a pretty good place to bow hunt. I was told it would take me about 45 minutes from my house in Roswell. It takes me 2 hours to get to my deer lease and that is $30 in gas money right now.

What is the hunting pressure on WMA's like? I would normally hunt on Sunday or Mondays. Do you think that I could go and scout on Sunday during the mid-day without making people mad?

This is public land, you can go to it whenever. No one should have the right to "get mad".

I turkey hunt on it in the spring, see nice bodied deer then.
Been going to bow hunt it the last couple of years, but ther is always a crowd when I try to go early season.

I use to hunt that piece of property when it was Pine Mnt. hunting club. PM me and I will tell a couple of places to go.

They are a couple more WMAs closer to roswell than sheffield.Dawson forest and magraw ford.
