Residents in Douglasville have been on edge after a rise in coyote sightings.
The coyotes have been spotted roaming a park west of town and in the neighborhoods along Interstate 20 in Douglas County.
One resident, John Harris, said he’s seen coyotes not far from where he plays basketball at Hunter Memorial Park.
“And it was kind of tall and gray with a bushy tail and I said that’s an old coyote,“ said Harris.
It’s enough to get the city of Douglasville to think of ways to get rid of them before they become dangerous to people and pets.
City Manager Bill Osborne said, “These are not animals that running from people, we’ve had a couple reports of actually snarling at people and they’re not spooked by the sight of human.”
