Yesterday I gave up a chance to limit out so my missionary buddy from Alaska could score a bird.
Got out yesterday and heard two birds gobbling way off property so no chance of going after them. Set up at the edge of the property and had a hen yelp about 60 or 70 yards from us. Told him she may have one with her but chances are low. We could tell she was coming on up the road and went back and forth with her for about 5 minutes til she popped out walking to us. My buddy then said what's that behind her, ole Jake was following her around and turned broadside to reveal his beard. Told him it was a Jake and the hen busted us. Jakester started to run and my buddy poppped him.
It was a great morning and a blessing from the Lord to get this bird. Enjoyed making memories yesterday.
