Alright fellas im trying to figure out the best time to cut strips in my dove field. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how long before season do you cut and also do you harrow or burn after you cut? thanks for your help

IMO if your trying to get them there for the first season you should be starting now. I don't know how big a field you got, or whats in it, but we cut strips along and along our fields to equal this 1/3 of field cut/mowed for first season, and 1/3 for second season, and the rest for the final season. Yes we burn the strips if possible. They usually take better to a burnt off field. A buddy of mine already has lots of birds in one of his fields and all he has done is mow around the edges. My .02
