Our house is about 6 years old. I recently noticed the door between the kitchen and garage (white latex paint) had gotten dirty on the kitchen side above the handle due to someone's dirty hands (mine) pushing the door closed when coming in from the garage. Decided to give it a quick cleaning so I squirted a few drops of Dawn dish liquid on a wet paper towel and gave the dirty part a gentle wipe-down. The dirt/grease came off easily.
After patting dry, the paint didn't seem as slick as before. Let it dry overnight and found the paint had softened where I had wiped it down. Several months later, still soft as if it had been freshly painted and hadn't completely dried. Any suggestions to fix the tackiness short of stripping the door and repainting? Thanks for any suggestions...
