Ok guys and gals - here we go.

Balmy 91 degrees

Headed to tall ladder on swamp edge

Pines and dog fennel behind me.

Got my trusty flip flops on, so I will step lively if I see Mr. Jake.

Roughly 3/8 mile to stand so it is not too far.

Wet my shorts, shirt and Boonie hat so it is not unpleasant.

And so the 2018 campaign begins.

Very comfy

Light rain - rained pretty hard a minute ago so I am not hot at all

Got about a good hour to go - the best hour

Very wide 6 pt on cam here (18” or so)

Heard one (or more) crash in underbrush about 45 mins ago

Just got blown about 5 mins ago

Variable wind shifted to east and pretty much did me in.

Dark now in the woods, could not count points so that looks like a wrap.

Shame I burned the first hunt in this stand, I have high hopes for it this year.
