I hit the water for a couple hours and caught around 10. Chase schools of shad and drop a spoon on the fish underneath of them. Fun watching the spoon drop on the sonar and the fish chase it and get hooked up.

You done good. And hear I was thinking that Allatoona was an old Indian word meaning, "no fish."

Lol yeah I know what your mean some days Its a tough lake to fish at times. Allatoona is one of a kind for sure. I just keep telling myself keep at it and hope i learn something even I get skunked or catch 20 that day on the lake.

More often than not, I get skunked. I've tried nightcrawlers, shad, threadfin, crickets, and all my shiny bits of plastic.

I'm batting around .200. And most of them are throwbacks.

The first thing I always throw on Allatoona is a white pearl superfluke on a 4/0 EWG Hook. No matter the time of yer. I will change my retrieve speed but usually a jerk jerk pause cadence.
