I believe it's Civil War week on the History Channel. There is a new Gettysburg show on Monday night at 9, I think.

Been watching...good stuff. Last night they profiled the charge at Gettysburg. Hood made a 10X worse decision ordering a much longer charge facing a massive amount of men and artillery, all dug in at Franklin. Charged with no artillery support unlike Gettysburg.
 
A point that is always missed

With out Vicksburg, we would not have had Gettysburg

IMO Gen Hood was a much better officer when he was in the position of being given orders to follow.
When he was thrust into the commanding position he was forced to begin making his own decisions. He acted foolishly on several occasions after this.
