The guided big game hunts in Africa is just killing not hunting. Drive up, walk through the bush a few yards point and kill.

I can imagine the carnage.
One of my favorite movies is The Ghost & The Darkness. Lions are serious bidness.
Crazy thing is in that part of the world.....I think a dude would rather take his chances on the lions that with the local armed thugs who commit atrocities at will.
Ironically....it's the legal big game hunters....specifically the money & organization it brings...that provides even a modicum of civility to the regions. One of the few things in place to hold off the murderers, rapists and poachers. Something to consider before folks go writing off this type of hunting.

A lot of lion hunts are targeting specific males for pride management. They know where they are, they track them for you, and you kill THAT lion. On the plus side though, you are accompanied by a PH and a couple of trackers.
So if worst comes to worst, you can always hobble one to make sure you make it back to the truck Like they say, you don't have to outrun the lion...
