Bass Tournaments and Gianormis crappie

Nothin but Fish

I worked what was the largest bass tournament that I have ever seen this past weekend at Lake Fork, TX. It was the Skeeter Bass Champs Mega Bass. There were 1823 anglers that registered to fish this event where the format was 1 bass could be weighed each hour in hopes of winning one of 15 places each hour. 1st place each hour was a Ford F150 pick up and over all winner was a F150 + Skeeter Bass Boat. Because Lake Fork has a slot there were actually 2.5 lb or so fish that won several of the F150's. If there was an event similar to this in this area I wonder how many would fish the event? The guy that won 1st place over all did so with a 10.9 lb large mouth.

On Sunday I did get to get out on the water for a couple of hours for some slabs. I know they say everything is bigger in TX and after boating 23 of these I tend to believe the bigger stuff..

I can't imagine the cluster at times trying to weigh in. Logistics must have been a nightmare. Love those dark bodied slabs.
