Then should not bottled water suppliers, tarp suppliers, MRE suppliers, clothing suppliers, trucking companies, cereal manufacturers and farmers all do the same?

What many of you are suggesting is nothing less than Socialism.

This is a simple matter of supply and demand.

But America is not so dependant on those other things. I realize it is supply and demand but the demand is not necessarily a demand here, it is a requirement. The government regulates other kinds of required industries like electricity why not gas?

OK I agree it is supply and demand but they can make plenty off of other countries and hold our prices low. That is what the other countries do with their products. We buy their products actually subsidizing their costs.

Yes it is supply and demand but just remember that they don't care about us or our economy. Some day they may need me and I will remember how they treated me!!!!

I am sorry I didn't realize that all the above mentioned services raised their prices at a startling rate, except to make up for the increase in fuel to manufacture and transport these things. If gas stayed at the original level then other goods would not have gone up. I am sorry if you feel this is Socialism, I think it is the American Way to put the needs of the country ahead of your own profits in a time of crisis
