Body size. There’s no droop to his belly or back. Just looks like a young deer with good genetics to me. I believe this buck from last year comes from the same gene pool.

This right here . That buck is young he doesn’t have the staining on the forehead of an older deer.. if he is in an environment where he can live for 2 or 3 more years. He will be a giant2.5. He's a youngster with potential.
I agree. I don’t think the deer this thread is about is extremely young.An older deer has a kind of skin colored ring around the eye a lot of times. That’s one giveaway I’ve noticed. They are usually 6 plus to get that.
