Caught a few of the rainbows that were stocked last week.
This one ate a size 8 olive and black pats rubber legs. The creek was very dirty and blown out from the rain. Fished mops, midges, and a red san juan worm. For some reason pat’s rubber legs just works well for me when it comes to rainbows (especially when the water is dirty).
A white size 6 wooly worked on the standard nine inch rainbows too. I just let it sink and drift. Then I stripped it in on the swing and that did the trick.
Also, I am not using ‘standard’ to describe the rainbows in a derogatory fashion. All trout are beautiful.
