Got out on the pond today. Caught a total of 47. A total of 5 spots and 42 crappie. All the spots were small. Most of the crappie were small but I did manage one that weighed right at 1.9 pounds.. I'm still trying to get that 3 pounder. All released for you to go get them. I hope everyone can get out this week and do a little fishing water temps are getting up and the fishing is right. Tight lines!

How did you catch them? Longline or single pole?

I’m confused. You say you released them but I see a bunch of fish laying in the boat in the first pic. ?????

Welcome back.
A crappie will live a pretty good while out of water. Probably just a dump em out photo shoot and throw em off the bow.

Single pole - I've been known to troll a single pole or two

Jigs, multiple colors. Minnows would of worked as well or better

Each time I caught one I threw it in the live well. (except for some) At the end of the day I took them out of the live well and placed them on the front deck. Took a pic and tossed them into the lake. Look closely, one has flopped airborne off the deck.

Back out today for 3 hours. Better size today. Biggest just over 16". First season dedicated to crappie and I have figured a few things out. Still looking for that 3 pounder but my bigger fish seem to have similarities in their behavior.
