Deer traveling 200 miles during rut

There was another study I saw this week of a buck on the Arkansas/Mississippi river line that moved something close to 20 miles over a short period of time...even swimming the river during peak flood conditions where it was a mile wide.

I know personally I have seen deer swim across super wide parts of West Point lake that actually came from Georgia and swam into Alabama.

I couldn’t believe the first time is saw 3 or 4 deer swimming across Allatoona.
It was a couple hundred yards worth of swimming too…..bet it was 20 years ago

The bucks I hunted in N Al were on a three to five day travel route. That wouldn't be uncommon.
